Create your own webpage on this website

  1. Create a CMS account:  http://cms.ubc.ca/
  2. Email robert.kwei@ubc.ca or Roseanna and ask for editing access
  3. Click on my sites – “Stream and Riparian Research Laboratory” <- “Dashboard”
  4. Click on “Pages” -> “Add new”
  5. Make sure you specify the “Parent” in “Page Attributes” (bottom right) as “Students”
  6. Create your page…blurb and picture
  7. Make sure to publish it or keep it private (visibility) depending on whether it’s finished (top right “Publish”)
  8. Add a hyperlink to your website to your name on the “Students” page

 

Give website editing access to someone

  1. Click on my sites – “Stream and Riparian Research Laboratory” <- “Dashboard”
  2. “Users” (on the panel on the left)
  3. “Add New” or “Invite User”
  4. Decide the “Role” to give them – Editors versus Administrator
  5. If the email address you put for them doesn’t work then they don’t have an cms account —-> tell them to create one http://cms.ubc.ca/

 

Add documents 

  1. Click on my sites – “Stream and Riparian Research Laboratory” <- “Dashboard”
  2. “Pages” (on the panel on the left)
  3. “Edit Page”
  4. “Add Media”
  5. “Upload Media” – up to 20mb per document

 

Add a repository page

  1. Click on my sites – “Stream and Riparian Research Laboratory” <- “Dashboard”
  2. Click on “Pages” -> “Add new”
  3. Make sure you specify the “Parent” in “Page Attributes” (bottom right) as “Repository”
  4. Create your page
  5. Make sure to publish it or keep it private (visibility) depending on whether it’s finished (top right “Publish”)

 

Password protect a page

  1. Click on my sites – “Stream and Riparian Research Laboratory” <- “Dashboard”
  2. “Pages” (on the panel on the left)
  3. “Edit Page”
  4. “Publish” –> “Visibility” —-> “Edit” —-> “Password protected”
  5. Enter password
  6. “Ok”
  7. “Update”
