Project: Food web structures and carbon flux in streams.
Intrigued by the elegant application of food web ecology in the study of ecosystem processes and dynamics, I have focused my interests and training on this field of aquatic/marine ecology. Research in this area can be used to influence and develop ecosystem-based management, as it answers questions about species-mediated interactions caused by environmental pressures. Specifically within this field, I am interested in how aspects of food web structure and dynamics influence important ecosystem processes within aquatic environments.
I am currently working on my PhD looking at how food web structure influences the magnitude of CO2 emissions from streams within coastal British Columbia.
